Integrated scale-up concept

This is how you successfully scale up

The underlying design idea behind our reactors is that they realize their scale up potential already in the early laboratory phase of process development. This is the strength of our technology platform: in each phase of your process we can build on the design of the previous step.

Research & Development - laboratory scale

You start with the Ehrfeld MMRS – and very flexibly. The intelligent laboratory platform is ideal for developing new products or optimizing processes. Our scale interface modules FlowPlate® Lab and Miprowa® Lab enable simple, fast and low-risk transfer of the process to the next phases.

Pilot scale (validation)

With the FlowPlate® A6, the ART® PR37 and the Miprowa® Matrix reactors you have the right equipment to expand your processes to pilot scale. This means that you are well prepared for the decisive step, the transition to production and you have taken the decisive step for the transition to production scale.

Production

With our technology platform, you can master the transition to production just as easily and efficiently. This is where our powerful devices, the FlowPlate® A5, the ART® PR49 or the Miprowa® production reactor truly shine and unfold their full potential: you will not only produce faster and more safely but also more efficiently – and realize significant cost savings on the way.

Production and Scale-up Philosophy

Based on our integrated scale-up concept, we guarantee a fast scale-up within comparable channel geometries, whereby only a minimal cross-sectional enlargement of the channels takes place. In doing so, we retain the advantages of microreaction technology, such as high mixing quality, excellent heat transfer and targeted process control. In this way the results achieved on a laboratory scale can be quickly and easily transferred into the design of the production reactor. The required throughput is achieved, for example, by a parallel connection of channels to a channel bundle within a reactor.
